.project: visual concept of game for Nintendo DS

The main goal was to deliver a cool looking rich visuals for crosswords puzzle game for the Nintendo DS platform. What was intellectually inspiring were the limits of the console itself. Firstly, there is just very limited computing performance available which virtually denies to employ any up-to-date games look. Secondly, console goes with two displays, yet one of them offers touch sensible features. Our task was to turn these constraints into positive characteristics of the game design. What I present here are bits of game visuals as were presented during first meetings concepts. Design paraphrase the early 80's style of games with it's polygon graphics, loud colors and bold type.
